Special Events

Using Sacred dance, chant, breath and meditation, Mekare will lead us in a beautiful day of retreat deep into the sublime practice of the 21 Praises of Tara in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition. By contemplating the qualities of the Great Mother Tara, the afflictions which cloud the mind are dispelled. Freed from fear, the challenges of our life are met with clarity and compassion. To dance the praises, one enters into the heart of Tara's mandala, embodying her sublime qualities. Darkness and despair are transformed into the radiance of wisdom nectar and the dancers send this energy out in a blessing for our world. This day of retreat is a beautiful and powerful introduction to this practice and is open to all.

In the afternoon we will dive deeply into Tara's praises through incredible visualizations, dance, and dharma teachings. In the evening we will dance the Mandala before a world altar. Please bring a dish for a potluck feast before the evening dance and any special objects you would like placed on the altar. Dress to dance the Goddess!
